Women - who did not conform to his ideal? Who in their just and reasonable humanity did not bow to his command, his desire - who must have been living for just themselves!
Women? As a class no more a unity or type than men. To have in common some supposed devious way, some antagonism against all who pursue them? No!
Women, he sighed, again thinking that he spoke of all, when truly he speaks of himself and his skill in seeing desire for himself, and desiring that above all.
Women, who cringe before the night, wanting only what any man needs! To foresee and foretell the path toward fulfillments of their own desires
For this we begrudge them their pain?
