Getting your hands on copies of these songs for your own portable pleasure is eminently doable, but also somewhat tricky. Remember that like a lot of "heavy pop", I like to think that these songs not only reward multiple listens, but that they also require it to some degree. It can take a few, or a dozen or more, exposures before the hooks are properly set.

Each of the works has a compressed copy embedded in a player on its lyric page. Those are also brought togther here on the "songs" page. They are not set up as downloads, but the page source will show you exactly what the url is.

That source would also show you something else - every prior demo that has been uploaded still exists, simply buried in a commented-out section at the bottom. Those urls are all still functional if you realy wanted to punish yourself and listen to older versions of any particular song.

I could make you a CDR (or thumbdrive) with the latest iterations on it. I could even make you a DVD, Bluray, or again, a pumped-up memory stick, and include the video of the recording - some are pretty snazzy. No one is ever going to ask me to do this, but it can be done. As time goes by these would also incorporate varying levels of artwork.

A snapshot: mid-February 2021

On the tenth of February, 2021, I wrote "Private Plains Ape" and essentially I now considered the album to be complete. As in, it does not need any more songs. It just needs one hell of a lot of work. Briefly, I created a "snapshot" CD of the thirteen songs/demos as they were at that point, but PPA really wasn't gelling yet. After several days of work and intense comparison and consideration, on the fifteenth I sat down with the goal of making its disjointed limbs work together as one coherent body, and I think I basically succeeded. So, the demos through that date are a pretty decent quick look at where this is going. Some of the work is a bit ragged - it really took me something like half of WYG to settle into the groove properly, and of course I will make a better version. But that might be one of the first steps away from this single-take recordings and my venturing into "the studio" for some multi-track wizardry and the joy of writing and executing more parts to fill the songs out properly, as envisioned. (You didn't really think this was an acoustic folk album, did you?)

What that means is that this snapshot is meaningful to me, and so I am preserving it. I have copied aside the CD-quality versions of each track, and I'll make a side copy of the MP3 page here with a copy of the disc art that goes with it specifically (song timings match, for instance).
