Questions! RETURN to index
Recipient: my decrepit old '73 F250 4x4 with 360/C6. No power nuthin'. 8' bed, 7 1/2' fisher plow.

Donor: Appears to be about a '77, 4x4, standard transmission, power steering and brakes - smaller block than mine.

Any of these questions you can help me with I surely appreciate. You can either write me directly or post your answer to the Ford Truck Enthusiast '61 - '79 list. Thank you in advance! 1. Will I have difficulty swapping the brake pedal-only setup from my auto cab to my manual donor?

2. Will it be possible to use the brake booster from the donor, which probably had front discs, with the master cylinder from my non-power brake beast?

3. How tough will it be to take advantage of the electronic ignition module in my donor (no distributor included)?

4. Will it be possible via fabrication and welding to use the power steering pump and box from my donor in my old truck? (I have no "spare" crank pulley - two are used for the alternator and one for the plow pump)

5. I plan on just getting beefy with the floor of this thing - the donor has moderately intact cab mounts, but very little floor. I want to just hammer and rivet and weld a bunch of galvanised sheet metal into place, basically if I can covering the entire bottom 6" or so of the floor pan. Suggestions?

There may be more, but that's all I can think of so far (hands still clean, not bleeding...)
