When you start a thought with "What we were taught"
I begin to lose my interest

Wisdom conventional is too unintentional
Rote learning to pass another test

From there it's downhill through the constant refill
Of (your brain with) advertising emissions

We gum up our works with acceptance of perks
Run through us without our permission

You take new ideas apart without fears
And roll them around in your mind

Put them all together assemble even better
Now you understand of their kind

To do more than read and blindly succeed
Like fish chasing rotten old chum

Not just memorize, you must synthesize
To think for yourself is more fun

We expect you to learn not repeat at your turn
The lessons as everyone nods

It's harder than that escaping the hatch
The boobies will ruin your odds
