Men Who

You say you want to be my friend
Because you think I'm like you -
But I say please, please make it end
Because I don't really like you

I said to back off a little
Just give me a little space
And he did that for a moment
Then, drunk, resumed his pace

I couldn't make out most he said
The slurring was a bit too much
But he seemed convinced that we'd be friends
If I'd only stay in touch

I kept my eyes elsewhere pleading
For the plenty of pleasant strangers
But in retrospect I wonder
How women deal with this derangement?

Drunk men who won't leave them alone
Can't be sure won't follow them home
Men who drunken, keep bothering them
Men who look strong enough to harm -

Drunk men who won't leave them alone

You say you want to be my friend
Because you think I'm like you -
