Here You Are

Nobody asks the time any more
No one wants your company
When you are lonely
But here they are

Nobody asks directions any more
No one ever calls to see
If you are home
But here they are

And here you are

And the lights up too early
All the doors behind you
Are locked you turn to look

And the streets fill up with rattles
And all the women who wanted
Found him several hours ago

And here you are

Nobody asks you to dance any more
No one wants your legs beneath you
Or you on your feet tonight
But here they are

Nobody cheats like they used to any more
They say it's just an hour or two
And oh can you give them some head?
And here they are

And here you are

Early rain in the gutter
And the music is tinny and shrill
Like a juke box far away

The town rolls up its sleeves
His voice still follows you
Saying you know too much

And here you are

Nobody asks the weather any more
No one lends you a coat
Or brings protection
But here they are

Nobody wants to talk any more
Nobody wants the thoughts
That you are alone with
But here they are

And here you are
