I didn't know if I was going to practice today. I didn't know I was going to write a song today. I have to thank Alice for the first three words - although I think I strayed off topic.

This was perhaps a record for me (except for Out of Beer, to an extent) - 38 minutes from germ to demo - I broke that record with Strung Out by a few minutes.

My first thought was "heck with three chords, I'll be lucky if this has three notes", but I made up a good noise thing for it. It started with three words, and then became three phrases, then three verses, then four, and well, an ending or coda. And some very sore fingertips and a bit of disco guitar to master.

I guess today turned out ok after all.

I recorded the first demo of this party piece 38 minutes after Alice gave me the first three words.

I knew it had to be a song, but my first thought was "heck with three chords, I'll be lucky if this has three notes". Somehow, though, I made up a guitar-hitting noise thing for it. It started with three words, and then became three phrases, then three verses, then four, and well, an ending or coda. And some very sore fingertips and a bit of disco guitar to master.
