My Lover Midnight

I found my lover midnight rare
A-walking upon the Moon
Gazing at the sky of stars
And hunting blades of blue

A garden hiding colored hearts
Would never grow too soon
Would never wear thin its love
Or come crashing into view

And by a tree (I know not which)
I saw you counting leaves
I asked you for some time to share
And we strolled across the breeze

I found my lover midnight there
Smiling on that late spring eve
We sailed across a sigh of stars
And made our hearts to keep
