we talk of all, and who we are - and
we make statements broad, and
perhaps untempered for the listener
our new lover
by the details of experience
We then find, perhaps to our dismay
at the cost of our new love, that
those words are quoted as if
they had no context but meant more about
who we are than any actions could later
prove.
