Love

we can pass and nod
we can screaming embrace
many hours unpunctuated
by the wasting of our words
filling each others pauses
with sentences in double time

we have love
and you can tell me what you feel
because we know time
there is no change: all wounds will heal

drinking through the hours
we alter frames symmetrically
a dance to behold two unlike souls
contrapuntal though watery now
as ignorant as you're foolish
I still strive for your most strong and wise

we have love
because you can hear me without speech
waves on island's shores
perpetual motion: yet out of reach
