Acutely Aware
You can become acutely aware
of the exhausting passage of time
and the costs of simply removing a limb
or arranging these things that rhyme
These motions are slowly taking far longer
than my thoughts in flux could sever
The executions that seemed so tedious
I think sometimes they're clever
And then there are things that we do when I wish
I would fill all my hours with you
And feeling forever week by weak with your kiss
When our hearts are beating one-two
In moments we become acutely aware
of time internected in space
wishing our days we're making this love,
while waiting or working, a waste
