Random Thoughts

spectral kisses on an autumn night
hard bright stars that ever take flight
the scent of flowers just past their prime
a blanket stained with grass and wine

a chill that makes your soft skin hide
but not so cold to make us stay inside
the enduring warmth of your fingertips
your anxious, moist, and demanding lips

the leaves of fall make the air dry and sweet
and the buzzing creatures of summer fleet
and on the beach, the street, or in the park
lovers share whispered secrets in the dark

the high bright moon sheds a cool clear light
        making your exposed tendernesses bright
and with abandon and with shining glee
you make gentle - clumsy - tender - crazy love to me
