A feeling cracks like lightning
and rumbles echo in time. .
Every vein feels supercharged
as if to change your life.

I remember such a moment
when we were in the park.
It was fired, but more than flesh
that left a searing mark.

But it was incomplete
well, for me at least.
Though we both had
smiles that said we feast.

And somewhere between
those smiles was a shift.
Not a shift - an earthquake -
I fell in love with you

That phrase seems so simple!
It wasn't that at all.
My heart laid bare out on a bed
of friendship and much more.

I had held you close between
my fingers and your breast,
and then there was such a surge
of energy through my chest!

It ran a minute maybe two,
it seemed to never end
I did not ask you if you felt it too
I should have, I should have then.
